New layout

SO, my husband and I spent 12 hours...yes, that is a LOT of hours, making our living room our dining room! Switching the rooms! It was nuts, and we had to remove and move a massive built-in entertainment center, but the way itis now gives us MUCH more room and the living room is now cozy and warm feeling. We DID block off a doorway, but I LIKE it. Of course, when we move, which we will someday, we'll have to remove the built-in thingy and reopen that doorway for buyers. This is OUR style, not theres. But really, the new looks and the open space is SO much nicer. We're not done, I am going to try to finish up the rest of the organization/moving/cleaning up. (Yeh, ME cleaning and not complaining about it.) I'm sure I'll run out of steam, but this is good for now. I'll try to post pics, just cuse sometimes it's neat to be able to SEE what someone is talking about!!!

I have been offered ANOTHER temp job at my old employer but I'm not so sure I want to take this one. They are trying to leave it so open-ended that I'm afraid they are going to try to push too many hours on me because they won't give me a definitive "here is what you would work." The county gov't reporter, which was my old job, is taking a 4-5 week leave of absence and they need someone to cover her meetings. FINE. For two weeks out of the month (the final two) that would be 1-2 meetings Mon-Thurs for only 30 minuts to an 1 at most. Sometimes you get a story, sometimes you don't. NOW, if they just wanted me to go and cover the meetings, then go home and write up anything I get, that would be fine. BUT they are trying to push me to "man the office" a couple nights a week too and I don't WANT to do that. It's why I left the job in the irst place. I don't want to work all day with the kids and then work ALL night at the office. So, I'm in a dilemma. I'd like the extra money, but I don't want to do anything more than cover her meetings or do stories she might have been assigned. And FROM HOME. None of this office stuff. I mean, c'mon, this is EXACTLy the job I left to take care of the babies, how could they even imagine that I'd come back on a temp basis to do it!? I don't know. I'm temped to just fill in for her next week and let them get someone else to do the rest. Money is wonderful but at the expense of sanity???

Lily is still being a cranky butt at bed time. She is WIDE awake from 11 to about 12:30 in the morning and it is annoyyyyyyying. You try to put her in bed, it's a scream fest. But you sit her on the couch and she's happy to bang on the pillows. Thankfully I was up anyway last night, so I put her to bed when I went up to bed and she cried for a few minutes then fell asleep. They're napping now so I'm going to see about some lunch.

the job sounds interesting, but i know what you mean about wanting to have more definite hours. before you know it you'll be back at full time! i don't want to work for anyone anymore. I want to start my own business, but don't know what to do yet. I've tried a few things but none have panned out yet. Congrats on getting your living/dining area the way you want it. We need to move to a bigger house (we're in an apartment right now) someday, too.

Yeh they have offered me EVERY job to come up at the paper KNOWING i can't take them! Nothing they offer pays enough for daycare AND I wouldn't put the girls in anyway. I'd love to have some sort of business at home. Right now, I can WRITE, which is wonderful, but I really would love to publish a book. Problem is...I have a bunch of HALF stories...nothing finished. AND no agent or anything. So yeh...

I hope you guys find the perfect house sometime!
